Water Valley School District serves some 1350 students in the school district. The district consist of three campuses, Davidson Elementary which serves some 750 students, Water Valley High School serves 550 students and The Education Center which serves students from both the elementary and high school who are assigned to an alternative education or GED program. Located in Yalobusha County in North Mississippi Water Valley is about 25 minutes from the University of Mississippi located in Oxford, Mississippi. Water Valley is also less than 90 minutes from Hernando, Tupelo and Memphis.


Music, physical education and gifted programs enhance a traditional curriculum. Students are rewarded for learning advancement through ongoing initiatives, including reading readiness and advanced reading comprehension. Partnering with community entities Davidson Elementary sponsors a Character Counts program that helps nurture the moral development of students.


Water Valley High School provides traditional academic courses for students and also offers upper level science and mathematics, advanced placement English, foreign language study and gifted education. Vocational/technical programs are in agriculture, building trades, food services and cooperative education. Computer and technological resources are implemented for all grade levels. Extracurricular activities include football, baseball, softball, basketball, cheerleading, track, volleyball, band as well as other organizations.


The high school has student representation at the Mississippi Governor's School and a Technology Expo attended annually by area businesses and the state's only Environmental and Spatial Technology (EAST) Lab.
